
The following Terms & Conditions apply to all purchases, reservations, pre-orders, and deposits made through Gorgo Geckos.
By placing an order, reserving a gecko, placing a pre-order, or making any form of payment or deposit, the buyer acknowledges and agrees to the Terms & Conditions listed below.
1. Customer Support
Our team is available Monday–Friday, 09:00–16:00. Outside these hours, please email info@gorgogeckos.co.za, and we will respond as soon as possible.
2. Leopard Gecko Husbandry
All Leopard Geckos sold are captive-bred and raised with proper care reflecting our commitment to quality and animal welfare.
Customers are responsible for researching and maintaining suitable husbandry for their animals.
To assist, we provide blog posts on gecko care, feeding, and general husbandry.
3. Shipping & Delivery
All shipping is handled via a Specialist Courier via Overnight Express to ensure the safety of the animals.
Shipping is arranged individually per order to ensure that conditions are optimal.
Costs vary depending on your location and courier requirements.
We do not ship on weekends or public holidays to prevent extended delays.
4. Tracking & Enquiries
There is currently no online order tracking system available.
If you would like an update on your gecko’s shipping progress, please contact us directly at info@gorgogeckos.co.za.
5. Livestock Terms
Because we sell live animals, we do not accept returns or exchanges under any circumstances. This protects our animals from unnecessary stress, contamination, or exposure to potential disease.
Website photos represent morphs and general appearance; the gecko you receive may vary slightly unless specifically identified by an ID number. If you want photos of the exact gecko, please contact us.
We pack our geckos safely and securely for transport and livestock is packaged to international standards to ensure safe transit and we pride ourselves on safe delivery.
Buyers are responsible for checking local laws and securing any necessary permits for Leopard Gecko ownership.
6. Live Arrival Guarantee
Gorgo Geckos may, at our discretion, offer a Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG) under the following strict conditions:
Collection & Notification
The buyer (or their appointed person) must be available to receive the gecko on the first delivery attempt.
The buyer must notify us within 30 minutes of receiving the gecko if there are any issues.
Notification must include clear photo or video proof of the shipping box, packaging, and the gecko.
Weather & Courier Conditions
LAG is only valid if temperatures during transit are within 15°C – 35°C.
Gorgo Geckos reserves the right to delay shipping if weather conditions are unsafe.
Courier Responsibility
LAG does not apply if delays are caused by the buyer (e.g., providing the wrong address, not being available, or refusing delivery).
Courier errors outside our control (e.g., lost or mishandled parcels) are not covered unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
Exclusions
Deaths or injuries caused by improper setup, handling, or husbandry after delivery are not covered.
LAG does not apply to international shipments unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
Resolution
If all conditions are met, Gorgo Geckos will provide either:
A replacement gecko of similar value (subject to availability), or
A credit note toward a future purchase.
Cash refunds are not offered under the Live Arrival Guarantee.
7. Ordering & Payments
Payments must be cleared in full before any gecko is shipped or collected.
Accepted payment methods are:
EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer)
Cash (for collections only)
Card (for collections only)
If we have not received Proof of Payment with in 24 hours your order will be cancelled unless you have made special arrangments with managment.
8. Pre-Orders
From time to time, Gorgo Geckos may list Leopard Geckos that are still too young to be shipped. These geckos may be reserved through pre-order under the following terms:
Minimum Age for Shipping
Geckos will only be shipped once they are at least 1 month old and have demonstrated healthy growth (regular eating, shedding, and pooping). This ensures the gecko is strong and stable before transport.
Early Collection or Shipping Requests
If a buyer requests the gecko earlier than 1 month of age, the gecko’s ongoing health and wellbeing become the full responsibility of the buyer. Gorgo Geckos cannot be held liable for any issues that may arise from premature transfer.
Payments & Exchanges
Once a payment has been received for a pre-order, it cannot be cancelled for a cash refund. However, if the buyer chooses not to proceed with the originally reserved gecko, the amount paid may be transferred toward another gecko of equal value, subject to availability.
9. Limitation of Liability
Gorgo Geckos is not liable for any delays, damage, or loss of animals once they are in the care of the courier.
We cannot be held responsible for the health or wellbeing of a gecko after it has been received, as proper husbandry and care become the responsibility of the buyer.
Gorgo Geckos is not responsible for any legal issues arising from the purchase, transport, or keeping of Leopard Geckos in areas where ownership is restricted.
10. Privacy & Security (POPIA Compliance)
Gorgo Geckos is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa.
Information we collect (such as your name, address, and contact details) will only be used for:
Processing and fulfilling your order.
Communicating with you regarding your purchase or enquiry.
We do not sell, share, or distribute your personal data to third parties unless required by law.
By providing us with your details, you consent to their use for the above purposes.
